Jean discovered the beaver drawings while going through her old records. The drawings were given to her many years ago when she was living and working in Canada.

Beavers were hunted to extinction in the UK in the 1600’s and are now included in UK wild life projects to encourage their return. To honour this, Jean decided to write a story about them, and so created Billy Beaver.

This is Jean’s first children’s book; she has had two other books and fourteen articles published in her work as a quality management consultant.

While living in Canada she obtained her BA in English Literature and Language as a mature student at the University of Alberta.

Jean now lives in Gloucestershire, England and she has two daughters who live in Canada and Australia.
